THE BLACK BOX THEATRE
presents
International Orange
IN CONCERT, Dec. 17th, 2017 @ 2:00 PM (Doors @ 1:30 PM)
Sponsored by Pastore Music
The Black Box Theatre’s inaugural programming season continues
with yet another exciting live performance by International Orange.
“Guitar-driven musical sunshine dancing to a global beat”. International Orange is the brainchild of New
York musicians Todd Isler and David Phelps. Leo Traversa provides the grooviest
bass, and Adam Morrison speaks through the keyboards. Their innovative funky originals marry the
slide guitar of the American South to the lilting sensibilities of India,
Africa, and Brazil.
International Orange’s genre-crossing resume stretches from
Phish’s Trey Anastasio and Mike Gordon, Steve Kimock, Ivan Neville, and John
Medeski, to World music innovators Angelique Kidjo, Tania Maria, Abdoulaye
Diabate, and Francis Mbappe, to Jazz Masters Joe Lovano, Melvin Sparks, Jack
McDuff, and on and on...
IO has played NYC’s finest venues from the Blue Note to the
Bitter End and many cities around the globe. This intimate afternoon concert is
FREE and open to the public. It is sponsored by Pastore Music.

About PASTORE MUSIC (www.PASTOREMUSIC.com)
Pastore Music opened its doors in 1939 in the same building it
occupies today on 32nd street in the heart of the lively Union City Business
District. Established by Domenic Pastore, it began by offering music lessons on
all instruments. Other than the Public School System, it is the longest
continuously functioning music conservatory in the area.
Over the years, Pastore began selling instruments (string,
brass, keyboards), audio equipment and lighting accessories. Through the years
it also developed a Sound Reinforcement Division which focuses on sound systems
consulting and installations as well as instrument repair services.
Today, Jerry Pastore (3rd generation owner) is continuing the
legacy. He started in the stockroom at age 13, was running the business at 18,
and purchased it from his father, Robert, at the age of 27.
